Show Notes: One Workplace Does Not Fit All | An interview with Janet Pogue McLaurin, Gensler (Podcast)

On this week’s episode of the Gensler Design Exchange podcast, host Brandon Larcom, Director of Product Development for Gensler’s Southeast Region, interviews Janet Pogue McLaurin, Principal at Gensler, about global trends in workplace design. Janet is a workplace strategist, researching how design can impact office effectiveness, wellbeing, and innovation. Throughout her 35 years at Gensler, her accomplishments include the 2006, 2008, and 2013 Workplace Surveys as well as the Workplace Performance Index®, which assesses effective workplaces across the world. Brandon sits down with Janet to discuss what a healthy work environment looks like, how to measure productivity, and where workplace design is headed.

Janet knows why designing a space really matters. Throughout her experiences, she has found that design is ultimately about people, and that space can solve for existing cultural issues that an organization may have. The key to strategy and design, Brandon and Janet conclude, is asking ‘why’ and what motivates us every day to get up and do our best work.
